Kuler Web App for iPhone/iPod Touch

Monday, November 17th, 2008

I recently started working on a web application for the iPhone/iPod Touch that would allow you to browse Adobe kuler themes in your spare time. You can access the web app here: http://pixelfumes.com/apps/kuler/. This will only really work well on your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you visit the app and add it to your Home Screen it will add a nice little icon to your Home Screen. If you launch the app using that icon you will get a nice interface minus all of the Safari chrome. It feels a lot more like a true cocoa-based application then as well.

Saving Themes You Like
Once you find a theme that you like, you can email it to yourself by pressing the envelope icon to the right of each theme:

Moving Forward
This should be considered beta! I have the search enabled on an internal build but I haven’t switched it on for the live application yet. I just wanted to see if anyone would use this. I also hadn’t developed an iPhone specific site to date so I thought I would give that a try as well. I hope you like it.

Kuler Panel for Fireworks CS3 Update Available

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Those of you who have been waiting for this update can now take the new version for a spin.  No major updates, just fixed the broken feeds that resulted in the API update.  This was rewritten from the latest Kuler Panel for Flash CS3 update because I lost the source to the original Fireworks Kuler panel I had written.  Hopefully it will meet your needs.  You can download the MXP installer here.

Adobe Fireworks CS3 Kuler Panel Update

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Several people have been asking when I will be updating the Fireworks CS3 Kuler Panel.  Adobe recently changed the API requiring an update to the codebase which drive the Flash and Fireworks Kuler Panels that I wrote.

I updated the Flash CS3 version but unfortunately have not been able to locate the source for the Fireworks version of the panel!  I will continue to look but it seems that I might have to recode that bad boy.  Are there enough of you out there that want it fixed?

Stay tuned.  Thanks for all of the positive feedback too!
